My boss, your partner… the game goes on.

(said as a greeting. I’m still using episode 7.13 ‘Their Last Bow’ from season ‘Elementary(2019)’, but I wanted to change the greeting. That is a quote from Ellory(Wrenn Schmidt) talking to Joan(Lucy Liu). According to Amazon Video, that scene starts 25 minutes and 47 seconds into the episode. In my opinion, when you say that phrase to another, it sound like a language that is encouraged to be used.)

It is now 3:05 PM EST for me. I went to the doctor for a check-up earlier today, and he said that the 2nd anal fissure that was close to the external area was remedied by the gel I was using. I did notice an improvement because of using that gel. The area no longer expels blood like it used to. The doctor said that if the problem gets worse, make an appointment to see him again. So, finally, those anal fissure problems I have been experiencing are finally over with. So far that I am aware of, I’ve only had one anal fissure surgery, and after that surgery, the results were positive and very quick. I no longer have to apply pain medication rectally by one of my fingers soon after I would poop. I could go back to work the very next day after surgery. To treat the 2nd anal fissure, the doctor prescribed to me a gel to be applied externally to the area, not rectally. I’d say that, within 2 months, and after stopping the treatment, the results became more and more acceptable. I did get some sort of irritation, causing me to stop the treatment a few weeks earlier, but in spite of the irritation, the bleeding did reduce significantly. I applied a different type of cream to that irritation, and the treatment in general seems to have worked. In the very least, my situation has improved.

The music video I finally selected for this advice is called ‘Woman Like Me’ by Little Mix. The song and music video has a wikipedia page. Here is a quote:

‘ Brooke Bajgrowicz from Billboard said: “the female-empowering lead single asks whether a man could fall in love with a woman who isn’t the stereotypical “good girl,” suggesting that being your own person is more important” ‘

‘ At one point we see them walk across a wooden pathway shaped to look like a massive ruler, which could be a commentary on how the music industry measures an women’s worth on their looks, hence why the girls are dressed so glamorously. We also see the group in a room with weighing scales, which could be seen as a subtle way of saying how women aren’t seen as equals in the music industry. ‘

And here’s a quote from the lyrics to song ‘Woman Like Me’:

I made a few mistakes, I regret it nightly
I broke a couple hearts that I wear on my sleeve
My momma always said “Girl, you’re trouble” and
And now I wonder, could you fall for a woman like me

The main reason why I chose music video ‘Woman Like Me’ is because it did not have any glaringly obvious reasons for me to reject it. It’s entertaining to see the women articulate using song and dance, and the lyrics are OK. I only watched it once earlier today.

I found the music video by clicking publisher ‘TopMusicMafia’ from www.youtube.com, and eventually selecting category ‘Top 100 Songs Of The Week January 12, 2019’. The preview starts 11 minutes and 23 seconds into the video. It’s rank is #17. You can watch music video ‘Woman Like Me’ by searching for phrase ‘little mix woman like me’ in www.youtube.com. It should be one of the 1st selections offered, with over 212 million views. It was published Oct 25, 2018, about 10 months ago.

Head ’em off at the pass:

I’ve already given you idea ‘Not notify(Wishlist #1178)’, ‘Not need validation and reciprocation from others to do certain things(Wishlist #1186)’, and ‘Intentional bias(Wishlist #1187)’. Based on those 3 ideas, I believe you may be able to learn and use idea ‘Head ’em off at the pass’. I invented the idea I think this morning, a day after typing in idea ‘Intentional bias’. Here’s a quote from web site grammarist.com about the phrase:

‘ To head someone off at the pass or to cut someone off at the pass means to prevent someone from accomplishing something, to forestall an event, to intercept and redirect someone. ‘

‘ Many Western movies contain the phrase, “We’ll head ’em off at the pass!” The exact origin of these phrases has not been determined, but their use picked up considerably in the 1940s through 1960s, when Western movies were at the height of their popularity. ‘

Let’s say that you’ve done nothing wrong in this addressed context: for the adults that have jobs, you noticed that one or more of the people that you work with have developed a pattern. Certain mistakes are being repeated over and over. You believe that management is aware that they are repeating the same mistake many times, and since you are doing nothing wrong, you don’t have to directly talk to that employee about that repeating pattern of theirs. If you are familiar with the game ‘Monopoly’, which is explained in wikipedia, it is like metaphorically placing one of those red hotels in that repeating situation. The instigator who is causing you to experience that mistake many times wants you to sense that it is fortified, and that it has an alpha(beginning) and an omega(ending). If you think about it, you will eventually leave it alone.

However, you now have those 3 ideas: ‘Not notify’, ‘Not need validation and reciprocation from other people to do certain things’, and ‘Intentional bias’. So with those 3 ideas, you may also evaluate that repeating loop more objectively, which may allow you to think about saying something to that person before that incident happens again. In other words, you may consider ‘heading ’em off at the pass’. Since you’re doing nothing wrong, I still believe that this is a good idea to think about. For example, sometimes I would contemplationally say ‘Do your own dirty work.’, because I believe that an instigator and/or inadvertency is encouraging me to intervene, but I don’t believe that a direct intervention from me should occur. [9/3/2019: Keep in mind that, if you choose to contemplationally say ‘Do your own dirty work’, then you should understand more that there are situations that you may not be able to explain in detail. However, you are still able to contemplationally say ‘Do your own dirty work’ in it’s acceptable context. I don’t want you to see me as ‘the bad guy'(villain, enemy) when using that phrase. If you start using that phrase, you should have an idea what I mean. 9/3/2019] So, since I have never introduced to you this idea before, I recommend that you just think about it. Besides, even though you are just thinking about it, and you are not going to actually ‘head ’em off at the pass’, the idea can still be useful to you. Here’s a quote from Wishlist #1123:

‘ The 2nd illustration for idea ‘Purpose’ is in episode 7.1 ‘Bond’ from lawyer tv show ‘The Good Wife(2015)’. The episode is character Lucca Quinn’s(Cush Jumbo) 1st appearance in the tv show. Based on the scene I am referencing in my opinion, the tv show wanted to give Lucca Quinn a good 1st impression. If you have Amazon Prime, the episode is available from Amazon.com without additional payment. Otherwise, I think you may be able to purchase the episode for about 2 dollars. So, according To Amazon Video, the scene starts 38 minutes and 30 seconds into the episode, Lucca Quinn is talking to Judge Farley(Jane Curtin). Of course, the quote is refurbished for this advice. Here is the quote:

Lucca: ‘And this is about an inheritance?’

Judge Farley: ‘Yes, it is. You catch on quickly.’

Lucca: ‘And was the person an invalid?’

Madeline Smulders(Bridget Regan): ‘She was in a wheelchair. Why?’

Lucca: ‘And I’m guessing this asset, this painting, was worth more than $20,000?’

Judge Farley: ‘Yes, it is. $8 million. Again, why?’

Lucca: ‘The housekeeper can’t inherit it.’

David Lee(Zach Grenier): ‘Of course she can.’

Lucca: ‘No, according to Illinois law, a caretaker to an invalid cannot inherit more than $20,000.’

Keep in mind that the illustration is just a tv show. You don’t have to interpret any of it seriously. None of it’s portrayals are real. Anyway, Lucca made a reference that, apparently, none of the other lawyers seemed to have known about, not even the judge. The point is that, refurbishing the tv show scene for this advice, Lucca seemed to have turned something that may be interpreted as seemingly innocuous that she had learned into something that allowed her to win the case. ‘

I haven’t read that quote again, but I remember that Lucca Quinn was considered by Diane Lockhart(Christine Baranski) and other senior partners to eventually be selected to also be a senior partner in their law firm. I think one of the obvious reasons why is the way that she thinks. Here’s a quote from that quote:

Lucca: ‘The housekeeper can’t inherit it.’

David Lee(Zach Grenier): ‘Of course she can.’

Lucca: ‘No, according to Illinois law, a caretaker to an invalid cannot inherit more than $20,000.’

I’m not a lawyer, but since the opposing lawyer probably won’t say it, for example, it’s up to your lawyer to say something that is in your favor. As of now, that is what idea ‘Head ’em off at the pass’ helps you to do. It helps you to think of ideas and strategies that are in your favor, even though you may be experiencing repeating mistakes that ‘says’ to you that you don’t have to do anything.

So, since this is the 1st time I’m introducing you to such an idea, let me give you a head start: if you choose to imagine what happens if you indeed actually ‘head ’em off at the pass’, there’s the possibility that you can’t keep doing that, or you don’t want to keep doing that long term. You may have to accept the reality that you won’t be able to keep it going. You won’t be able to keep talking to that person in advance in order to have a more favorable result.

When you 1st imagine talking to that person, you may want to address the fact that what they are about to do is wrong. You may want to address something that involves some sort of legitimate punishment. Go ahead. Think about that. I think that’s normal, considering. However, after that is thought about, I believe that you may eventually talk about something that just allows the situation to exist the way it’s supposed to exist, without needing to address any form of legitimate punishment. Keep in mind that you are talking to that person ‘in advance’. Many things are possible, since that repeating mistake did not occur yet. To help boost that ‘what is supposed to exist’ thinking, I recommend that you are the assistant to that instigator. Imagine giving him/her all sorts of information that is relevant for them to hear. If you choose to, just imagine planning one of his/her friend’s weddings. And with that experienced imagined contemplation, you should be able to imagine better just offering him/her that ‘no-frills’ request.

If you want an illustration of an assistant, I got the idea from Joan Watson’s(Lucy Liu) assistant, Sean(Ian Palmer), from episode 7.13 ‘Their Last Bow’ from crime tv show ‘Elementary’. Since it’s refurbished for advice, if you don’t like Sean’s presentation of personality, you can always imagine changing it. According to Amazon Video, that scene starts 3 minutes and 34 seconds into the episode. Here is a quote:

Sean: ‘Do you have any idea how hard you’re trending right now?’

Joan: (sighs) ‘About 100% more than I’d like to be?’

Sean: ‘I’m just saying. Your publisher better be ready to roll out a new edition of your book.’

Joan: ‘I did not do the interview to sell books.’

Sean: ‘Tell her that she needs a publicist.’

Rose(Shamika Cotton): ‘You need a publicist.’

Joan: ‘What I need, Sean, is an assistant who means it when he says he is gonna cut back on the energy drinks.’

Joan: ‘Your contractor called about 20 minutes ago. He said to give you this estimate for the renovations you were considering for the living room.’

Joan: ‘Oh. Maybe I should try to sell more books.’

[All right. That’s all I’ll say about it. I will still make idea ‘Resist’ this coming Saturday. I’m just here because I have some extra time after my doctor visit. So, if you are there Saturday, I’ll see you then.
