Salutations.
It is now 10:28 AM EST for me.
Before I begin with the advice, which was created from episode 7.7 ‘The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D’ from sci-fi tv series ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.(2020)’, I want to recommend some practical advice based on what I experienced a few days ago. A few days ago, I was caught in the rain, and my wallet and much of my clothing got wet. I was unprepared for it. However, I did have available to me a Hefty freezer quart slider bag, and I used it to protect my smart phone. What I should have done at the time was also put in that bag my wallet. Yesterday, I ordered 3 more wallets, just in case something like that happens again.
I recommend that, if depend upon public transportation, and if it rains, it’s possible that your wallet and/or your smart phone may be exposed to the rain, I recommend that you purchase some sort of slider bags to protect your wallet and smart phone from the rain. You should be able to purchase slider bags from grocery stores. They’re only a few dollars from a grocery store for a box of 35 slider bags. If you order it from Amazon.com, you can get 3 boxes, each box with 35 slider bags, for about 10 dollars with Amazon Prime shipping available.
I chose the Hefty Freezer slider because it looks durable. It’s just for appearance, really. You can just get a quart size slider, and that should work. The seal strip is a solid blue, I just like the look of it. The other sliders in the market should also work, but their seals may not look as think in appearance.
So, if you plan on purchasing slider bags, and you choose to purchase the one I recommended, in Amazon.com, search for phrase ‘hefty freezer quart’, and it’s 3 boxes for only about 10 dollars. You can choose to just buy it from a grocery store for only a few dollars and just get one box. If you are married and you are a man and you are not familiar with slider bags, then maybe your wife has some of those bags already. I believe that by having available a slider bag in case you get caught in the rain can help you avoid needing to purchase a new wallet or a new smart phone to replace the wallet and phone that could possibly have been damaged by the rain.

I forgot to mention that I did not have enough time yesterday to add the disclaimers on the recent lists. Therefore, if I don’t add it this coming Friday, then I would have to(so to speak) add it next Saturday, which means that I won’t be adding a new idea next week. I don’t think there should be a problem for me to add those disclaimers this coming Friday. If I made more of an effort, I could have added them yesterday, but I wanted to delete some of the tv shows/movies that I recorded in the cable tv box.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I saw the Hematologist less than a week ago, and he said that I don’t have anemia. I made an appointment to see my primary care physician next month, and I am going to talk to him about the iron and B supplement that I am still taking. Even though the Hematologist said that I don’t have anemia, I still feel noticeably less tired I believe because I am taking those 2 supplements. I am going to talk to my primary care physician to see if it’s OK if I continue taking them. I don’t see that there’s a problem, since you can just to to a pharmacy and buy them without needing a prescription. I’m just taking 1 iron supplement and 1 of those B vitamin supplements a day. My point is that I believe that those 2 supplements are helping me feel less tired. That’s why I want to talk to a doctor about it.

It is now 11:39 AM EST for me. The music video that I found earlier today from the youtube.com signed in home page, and I don’t load the whole page anymore, just like 75% of it, is from the song ‘On Mine’ by Diplo and Noah Cyrus. I checked google.com for an article that talked about it, and I found one from tastetv.com:
‘ Diplo is taking it out of the clubs and into the country, with a new country music album that is dropping. The album includes collabs with some interesting names, such as Noah Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Zac Brown & Danielle Bradbery, Cyrus, Peck and more. ‘
‘ Directed by longtime collaborator Brandon Dermer—who directed all the videos for this album—“On Mine” was shot at Far West Farms in Calabasas, where Cyrus grew up riding horses… ‘
—
To encourage you to choose to watch the music video ‘On Mine’, there is that recent episode of ‘The Simpsons’, episode 31.21 ‘The Hateful Eight-Year-Olds’, the episode aired May 2020, where Lisa gets to horseback ride with one of her friends whose parents own a ranch. Here’s a quick quote from imdb.com:
‘ Lisa joins a group of rich girls when she makes a friend who loves horses ‘
—
Here’s a quote from the song ‘On Mine’:
‘Cause I don’t know if I can walk this world alone
Yeah, I don’t know if I can do it, baby, tell me
Oh, can you see the potential in this?
Oh, can you see it?
—
Of course, like most of the songs that are made into music videos that I noticed, most of them are relationship based. But what is also happening is that if you look at what the music video is actually showing, especially from country music videos, they also tend to reveal other things. When I watched music video ‘On Mine’, it revealed to me an impression of another culture. For example, the music video illustrates horseback riding, and people in the music video are wearing cowboy hats. That could be something entertaining for you to watch.

Now, this tv series trailer I got from my Iphone, from the ‘News’ app. Here’s the headline:
‘Cobra Kai: First Two Seasons Coming to Netflix in August’
If you have a smartphone, click ‘News’, ‘Following’, and in the search section, type in phrase ‘cobra’, and that news article should show up. It was published Jul 22, 2020, this past Wednesday. Here’s a quote:
‘ Last month Netflix has successfully acquired the rights to upcoming third season of ‘The Karate Kid’ sequel series ‘Cobra Kai’, which also included the rights to the first two seasons for non-exclusive streaming. Now, the … streamer has officially announced the release date for Cobra Kai Seasons 1 and 2. Starring original stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, the series will be making it’s Netflix debut on Friday, August 28. ‘
—
And here’s a copy from wikipedia about the series:
Cobra Kai is an American action comedy-drama web television series, presented in an episodic storytelling format, and based on The Karate Kid film series.
Cobra Kai is set 34 years after the original Karate Kid film, and re-examines the narrative from Johnny Lawrence‘s point of view (placing it within the “minor-character elaboration” genre).[4] His decision to reopen the Cobra Kai karate dojo leads to the rekindling of his old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso.
—
The intent of those explanations is to allow you to find more entertaining to watch the ‘Cobra Kai’ trailer that I’m about to recommend for you to watch, not to encourage you to watch the series.
I believe that some parents(maybe 5% of American parents) are placing their kids in martial arts schools. It is my belief that being aware that someone from your school has martial arts experience will be more obvious in the future. It is also my belief that the tv series ‘Cobra Kai’, even though I’m not following the lives of martial arts students, it is my belief that that tv series, at least for the near future, may be the most popular tv series for kids and teenagers who have martial arts experience, at least in a public domestic sense. And by August 28, anyone can just watch it streaming in Netflix, making that belief of mine more likely to be true.
I couldn’t find anything official on ‘Cobra Kai season 3’, so I’m recommending to watch ‘Cobra Kai season 2’ trailer. To watch that trailer for free, search for phrase ‘cobra kai trailer’, and it should be one of the 1st selections offered, with over 26 million views. The trailer was published Apr 4, 2019, over 1 year and 3 months ago. There are over 14 thousand comments. Here is a quote from one of those comments:
‘ I’m 40 and I try to be as professional and mature as I can, but MAN! By the end of this trailer, I’m cheering and squealing like a little kid!! YEAH! This is the only thing that turns me into a kid again these days, Cobra Kai all the way!!!! I can’t “wait” for season 3!! Liz Shoe says she’s coming back too. Big fan of the movies and show here! Yay! ‘
—
I haven’t seen any of those ‘Cobra Kai’ episodes myself, but based on watching that ‘Cobra Kai’ trailer, you’ll probably be rooting for everyone. Sure, it’s based on those ‘Karate Kid’ movies, but all of the main characters that are in the ‘Cobra Kai’ episodes have developed since then. And they all seem to want what’s best for the next generation. More specifically, all of the main characters want the younger generation to benefit from martial arts. That’s the ‘vibe’ I got from just watching that trailer. Of course, there’s going to still be some animosity, but they all still want that same thing.

Confound:
Before I begin explaining the idea I invented from that ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ episode, I want to 1st give the definition of the idea, and explain 2 more references pertaining to that definition. I already planned to do this earlier. According to the definition from www.dictionary.com that I am using, ‘confound’ means ‘to perplex or amaze, especially by a sudden disturbance or surprise; bewilder; confuse:The complicated directions confounded him.‘ The more active definition that I am using is from urbandictionary.com, and it is for phrase ‘Confound it!’, and according to that website, ‘Confound it!’ means ‘Used to express surprise, frustration or anger. Confound it! I can’t find my darned keys! ‘

The episode is available streaming from Amazon.com, and according to Amazon Video, that scene starts 1 minute and 26 seconds into the episode, Jaime is sparring with Jae Kim. Here is the quote:
Jae Kim: Here we go. You see how you always defend the same way every time?’
2 minutes and 2 seconds into the episode:
Jae Kim: ‘You can circumvent the programming, go way beyond what it intended.’
Jaime: ‘You’re telling me I can hack into myself, change the information?’
Jae Kim: ‘All it takes is practice.’

The 2nd reference, refurbished for advice of course, is from episode 4.1 ‘The Hour of the Wolf’ from sci-fi tv series ‘Babylon 5(1996)’. To give an explanation of that scene, here’s a quote from the ‘Babylon 5 wiki’ from the White Star 2 article:
‘ The Shadows attempted to take over the vessel, telepathically, but Lennier programmed the White Star to return to Babylon 5, if something incapacitated him. ‘
The episode is available streaming from Amazon.com, and according to Amazon Video, that scene starts 35 minutes and 44 seconds into the episode. Here is the quote:
Cmdr. Susan Ivanova(Claudia Christian): ‘What… What happened? How did we–
Lennier(Bill Mumy): ‘I was concerned that there might be a fight upon arrival. In the event that something might happen to me, I programmed the computer to open a jump point and return home if I did not touch this control once every two standard minutes.’
—
And now, that scene that allowed me to invent idea ‘Confound’. That scene is from episode 7.7 ‘The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D’ from sci-fi tv series ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.(2020)’. I presume that people in general watch tv episodes from left to right, so to speak, from beginning to the end. I watched that episode from the beginning, I watched the previous scenes, and I also watch all 6 seasons of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, and that helped me discover the use of the scene that I’m about to quote. I’m not recommending that you need to also watch all those episodes of ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ I’m just describing what I used to figure it out. The episode is available streaming from Amazon.com, and according to Amazon Video, that scene starts 19 minutes and 56 seconds into the episode. At that moment, Phil Coulson(Clark Gregg), sort of, is talking to Alphonso ‘Mack’ Mackenzie(Henry Simmons). Here is the quote:
Phil: ‘It’s good you’re here, Mack. From what I can tell, Sibyl’s still out there.’
Mack: ‘Sibyl?’
Phil: ‘The head Chronicom. She uses something called Time Streams to predict the future.’
Deke Shaw(Jeff Ward): ‘Yeah, but I bet her crystal ball didn’t show a certain Big Bang coming. Am I right?’
Mack: (Breathes deeply)
—
And that is the moment, when Mack had to ‘breathe deeply’ after Deke said quote:
‘Yeah, but I bet her crystal ball didn’t show a certain Big Bang coming. Am I right?’
—
It is now 2:41 PM EST for me.
What I am going to try to do with the rest of this list is explain what ‘Confound’ is. In the next list, hopefully I’ll explain that next Saturday, I’ll explain the idea(s) and variation(s) that go with idea ‘Confound’.
From the ‘Bionic Woman’ episode, that is how I invented what I call the ‘Default perspective’ idea. If you worked for the same job/company for a few years or more, and you experienced instigations from time to time, then it’s possible according to my non-professional ideas that certain instigations that you have experienced have established in your mind what I call a ‘default perspective’, the contemplation perspective that you would use to try to experience and resolve certain mild to moderate forms of instigation. That ‘default perspective’ is illustration by Jaime Sommers:
‘ You see how you always defend the same way every time? ‘
The idea for using idea ‘Default perspective’ is to consider the possibility that certain instigations that you have already experienced have possibly caused you to use a ‘default perspective’, and that you may choose to reasonably try to change that default perspective to your advantage. For example, you may choose to just change how you use it, and over time, you may do other things to it. I believe it helps to know that it may be there, not for every expectation use, but to use as an idea.
—
The 2nd illustration is from the ‘Babylon 5’ episode. The part that I am using is what Lennier said:
‘I was concerned that there might be a fight upon arrival. In the event that something might happen to me, I programmed the computer to open a jump point and return home if I did not touch this control once every two standard minutes.’
—
So, let’s change it a little: if no one pressed a certain button within two minutes, the White Star 2 would automatically return home. That’s the example I am recommending that you think about when you choose to be more objective when interacting with you sense of confounding. I recommend that you see this as just as an idea to try for a while, and if you choose to use it more, then you can give it more of a purpose. For example, when you are at home, and you are trying to make more tenable an instigation you experienced at work, you can quantify/give that contemplation effort that you use as something that may be identified as ‘confounding’ you. Let’s create one possible option, and you don’t have to always use it, ‘if the resolving of such an instigation contemplationally takes you more than 5 seconds for you to resolve, then that resolving may be construed by certain expectations, not all of them, and only those expectations that you choose to use, not every possible expectation that it may apply to, if the resolving contemplation effort takes you more than 5 seconds to resolve, then those expectations may say that it’s ‘confounding’ you.
Of course, I’m trying to give you this advice as if it’s the 1st time that you’ve read it. You’re just practicing. This is your 1st time doing this. Why not make it more than 5 seconds? You can do that. After all, Lennier programmed the computer to go home after two minutes. It’s just an evaluation. That’s just part of it, one of the ideas. You can also quantify confounding more objectively using effort expenditure. So, let’s go to that ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ example, what Deke said to Mack:
‘Yeah, but I bet her crystal ball didn’t show a certain Big Bang coming. Am I right?’
—
Let’s say that what Deke said to Mack was both a ‘time confounding’ example AND an ‘effort expenditure confounding’ example. That is why Mack wasn’t able to resolve contemplationally what Deke said to him. That is why Mack had to ‘breathe deeply’ before he was able to continue talking to Phil Coulson. You see, ‘effort expenditure’ confounding is less dependant on how long it takes for you to resolve it. Sure, give yourself enough time, and for minor instigations, you may think of something, let’s say in a minute or so when you are at home. However, an instigation that is insisting upon an adverse expenditure for you to try to resolve, such an expenditure may not work well with your time solution strategy. That is why even the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mack, had trouble resolving quickly what Deke said. And of course, most of that episode gives you a reason why Mack is having trouble with Deke. Also, there are previous episodes. For example, Deke is from the future, and the team accepted him as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, even though he doesn’t have any official ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ training. Yes, he has priceless field experience, but he doesn’t have the courtesies that the other ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ agents have learned. I believe that’s the main reason Mack is having trouble with Deke.
Look this idea over, give it some time. Once you start practicing managing better your ‘default perspective’, then you should also manage better your sense of interacting with being confounded. Next Saturday, if I have time, I’ll give you some variations and ideas that go with idea ‘Confound’. And I believe that idea ‘Confound’ is my best idea. I know I’ve said that before. I recommend that you watch again episode 7.7 ‘The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D’ from sci-fi tv series ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.(2020)’, but to see how Mack is trying to manage his sense of confounding when interacting with Deke. The episode also gives something to Mack to help him with Deke, when he found out that Deke was helping his past self, but he did not know that until later in the episode. That helped Mack greatly resolve how he interacted with Deke.
So, if you are there this coming Friday or next Saturday, at least you can finally see the disclaimers added to the recent lists, including this list.
