Salutations.
It is now 4:23 PM EST for me. Before I begin with idea ‘Expire’, I want to explain another idea that, although I believe it is practiced by many people in America in one form or another, it should be said. That means it is my belief that I’ll probably explain it badly, if such an idea is really very commonly used, but I still think it should be typed in, even though you may be aware of it. So, I’ll explain it quickly today, and then tomorrow I plan to explain idea ‘Expire’.
The music video I chose an hour or so ago for this advice is called ‘Trip a Little Light Fantastic’ from the movie ‘Mary Poppins Returns(2018)’, starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins. Here’s a quick quote about the movie from www.wikipedia.org:
‘ The film has grossed over $346 million worldwide and received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its acting (particularly Blunt’s performance), direction, musical score, musical numbers, costume design, production values, visuals, and sense of nostalgia, although some critics found it derivative of its predecessor. It was chosen by both the National Board of Review and American Film Institute as one of the top ten films of 2018 and received numerous award nominations… ‘
To watch the music video ‘Trip a Little Light Fantastic’ for free, search for phrase ‘mary poppins returns’ in www.youtube.com, and it should be one of the 1st selections offered, with over 1.3 million views. The music video was published Jan 17, 2019, several weeks ago, and it has over 1,700 comments. Here’s a quote from the lyrics at the end of the music video:
So when troubles are incessant
Simply be more incandescent
For your light comes with comes with my lifetime guarantee
As you trip a little light fantastic
Won’t you trip a little light fantastic
Come on, trip a little light fantastic with me
Trip a little light fantastic!
As for the music video ‘Trip a Little Light Fantastic’ itself, if you haven’t watched the music video or seen the movie ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ before, I recommend that you start watching it at 4 minutes and 58 seconds, not the beginning. The music video is 8 minutes and 23 seconds long. Around 5 minutes into the music video, the kids are introduced to ‘Leerie speak’, and I think it’s interesting to see them learn it. Also, you get to see Mary Poppins dance with the others, and there’s a lot of synchronized dancing. If you like watching that, then you may be interested in watching the entire music video, but you don’t have to watch the entire music video.
Before I begin the idea, I want to start with an illustration example. The illustration is in episode 4.23 ‘The Host’ from sci-fi series ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation(1991)’. If you have Amazon Prime, the episode is available streaming from Amazon.com without additional payment, and according to Amazon Video, that scene starts 30 minutes and 19 seconds into the episode. Odan(Franc Luz) is using Riker(Jonathan Frakes) as a host in order to mediate between Kalin Trose(William Newman) and Lathal Bine(Robert Harper). Here is the quote:
Kalin Trose: ‘And how did you achieve a compromise between that young man and the iron-willed woman of Beta Moon?’

After that, an agreement came swiftly.’
The illustration is short, but that’s all you need to see from that episode.
Unrequited expectations:
According to www.dictionary.com, ‘unrequited’ means ‘not returned or reciprocated’. I think I invented idea ‘Unrequited expectations’ several months ago. This is how I invented it: One day, I was speculating that one of the main causes of many people not being able to work with each other is that their expectations of each other were not being requited/reciprocated. And so, I imagined getting other people to work for me, but they don’t have to even know that they’re working for me, or with me. They don’t have to change at all. It’s a little like that song ‘Just the Way You Are’ by Billy Joel, of course without the specific ‘love’ part of the song. That way, there’s no hassle about unrequited expectations. Soon after thinking that, I thought about placing myself in situations that I was unfamiliar with, controlled situations of course, but situations where I would experience unrequited expectations. That’s when I thought about that ‘Star Trek’ scene where Odan/Riker said quote:
‘ They agreed to trade places for a week to understand each other’s situation… ‘
After recently upgrading the idea, I believe that people may benefit from just considering how positive, reasonable interaction with unrequited expectations may benefit them. For example, I imagined in that ‘Star Trek’ situation that those 2 leaders that switched places for a week actually experienced a lot of unrequited expectations, and since they had to act as if one was the other, they learned the hard way that they had to at least give the appearance that such unrequited expectations did not exist.
Another example is the statement ‘I don’t even know you anymore.’ I imagined a woman saying that to a man that no longer presents an acceptable level of requited expectations to that woman for a certain length of time. Now, in a reasonable context by my intent for idea ‘Unrequited expectations’, here’s some bad news: Since instigators may have presented their instigations upon you with so much obvious bolster, just based on that alone, it is my belief that instigators have experience with unrequited expectations. Also, if you are being instigated, you may be discouraged from having a more reasonable, more objective experience with interacting with unrequited expectations, based on how you try to deal with the instigation. The good news is that I am making you aware of that now, and you may choose to at least think about the benefits of having a more objective, reasonable sense with unrequited expectations.
For example, I’ve watched/fast forward through every episode of ‘The Blacklist(2013+)’ starring James Spader as Raymond Reddington, and I believe it has helped me become more objective with certain mild types of unrequited expectations. Sure, the show has a lot of violence in it, but I’m an adult. If you choose to watch the show, just fast forward through the bad stuff. When I watch it, I usually would fast forward through some of it anyway. The best parts of the show in my opinion is how Reddington interacts with certain people. And now and then as I watch an episode of ‘The Blacklist’, I wonder to myself why I feel so sympathetic towards Reddington. I would even think of the joke, that criminal masterminds should have family in the FBI. That way, the people would feel more sympathetic towards them. After all, that’s what’s also happening in the show ‘The Blacklist’, since throughout most of the show, the belief that Elizabeth Keen(Megan Boon), and FBI agent, is Reddington’s daughter, does seem to help with giving the viewers sympathy for Reddington, a known criminal. My point is that it is my belief that, by allowing the viewers of that show to have entertaining sympathy for Reddington’s antics, that gives the viewers more of an ability to be able to interact more reasonably and more objectively with certain unrequited expectations. Of course, watching the show ‘The Blacklist’ is only a recommendation to help you be more reasonably objective with certain unrequited expectations. I’m not recommending that you watch every episode of ‘The Blacklist’. Just see a few of them, see if it helps. After all, you’re just watching the episode.
[All right. I think I said something about idea ‘Unrequited expectations’. Tomorrow, I’ll start idea ‘Expire’, so, if you are there, I’ll see you then.
